Once Again Nut Butter Product Review

We use an insane amount of nut butter in our home, so I was psyched when Moms Meet said that Once Again Nut Butter wanted to send me some samples. I figured I’d get a few squeezable pouches of nut butter and a brochure or two about the ingredients. Oh, and maybe a couple of coupons.

I was wrong.

When the delivery guy dropped off my giant box from Once Again Nut Butter, I was shocked. Check out what was inside:

Oh, and please forgive the grainy pic. I took it with my cell phone because I knew my kids would tear into the package without me if I didn’t act fast.

Speaking of my kids, how cute is this pic of my 4 year old with the stuffed raccoon that Once Again Nut Butter sent? Ahhhhhh I love him so much. That’s not why I put a heart on the pic, though. The heart is there because my carpet was covered in crumbs from the snacks I told my 6 year old not to bring into the living room. Shoutout to strategically placed smartphone emojis for helping me look like I have my life together.

Before I ramble on about the nut butter, I want to tell you a bit about the company. If you know me outside of Internet Land, you’re probably well aware that I’m passionate about social causes and want to see workers treated well. Employees own 100% of Once Again Nut Butter, which I think is awesome. The company also treats its nut growers well by participating in fair trade practices.

I mention these details because I know some of you are going to look at the prices for Once Again Nut Butter products and complain that they’re way too high. They’re high because the company sources quality ingredients and pay employees and growers well. I don’t mind shelling out a couple extra bucks for a nut butter that benefits so many people.

The company offers numerous varieties of nut and seed butters, including the four I received in my complimentary package:

Sunflower Seed Butter

I was expecting to hate the sunflower seed butter, but it actually ended up being one of my favorites. I already consume peanut butter and almond butter regularly, and I figured that a seed butter would just taste weird. It didn’t taste like a nut butter, but it was good in its own way.

The sunflower seed butter tastes very fresh, and you can definitely tell it comes from sunflower seeds (I mention this because I’ve tried a couple seed butters from other brands that tasted overly processed). After I cautiously licked a spoonful of it, I was transported back to my middle school days when sunflower seeds were all the rage. I used to crack them open with my back teeth and put the shells in my pocket. I didn’t want to be a litterbug, even way back when I was just a mini Missy.

Cashew Butter

Have you ever soaked cashews overnight for a paleo or dairy-free recipe? I have, and it’s a pain. I have 3 cats that think they need to knock over anything that’s in my kitchen while the rest of us attempt to sleep.

This creamy cashew butter is a game changer for me (and you!) because it makes it easier to prepare recipes that require ground cashews. I used mine to whip up some creamy cashew coconut sauce, and then I poured the mixture over some spiralized zucchini and other veggies.

This cashew butter has a mild flavor that makes it ideal for recipes where you don’t want nuts to steal the show. It plays nicely with spices, honey, veggies, fruits, and chocolate. I’ll probably use it to make some sort of vegan cheesecake next time.

Creamy Roasted Almond Butter

This creamy roasted almond butter was my teen’s favorite. I was amazed by how fresh it tasted. Yeah, I know I’ve been saying that about the other butters too, but you’ll understand if you try each of them yourself.

Have you ever toasted slivered almonds in a pan? I have, and that’s exactly what this nut butter tastes like. It’s a bit gritty compared to the other butters, so keep that in mind if you prefer smooth spreads.

Peanut Butter

I’m picky about my peanut butter, but Once Again no-stir peanut butter passed my taste test. I prefer more texture to my peanut butter, but I liked the taste of this brand. I’ll probably buy it again for the peanut butter caramel cookies I make regularly.

Oh, and they’re serious about the no-stir claim on their label. I’ve bought numerous nut butters that promised stirring wasn’t required, but those companies apparently had Fibber McFibberson heading their marketing team. The peanut butter from Once Again Nut Butter really doesn’t require stirring. Or refrigeration, which is nice. My fridge is already crammed full of fresh produce and approximately 697 sticks of string cheese. Life with kids.

I’m going to type up the recipes I created from Once Again Nut Butter products in another post, but here’s a sneak peek (don’t worry, I”ll come back and add links when I get the recipes posted):

Open-Faced Sandwiches With Sunflower Seed Butter and Blackberries

Apple Slices With Peanut Butter, Coconut Flakes, and Chocolate Chips

Zoodles With Creamy Cashew Coconut Sauce

Stuffed Strawberries With Almond Butter and Chocolate Chips

For the record, Once Again Nut Butter didn’t ask me to create any recipes. They just wanted me to taste the nut butters they sent so that I could share my honest opinion about them. I loved the nut butters, and even if I didn’t, I hate to see food go to waste…so I decided to create recipes for each of them. I can’t wait to share my tasty nut butter recipes with you.

Love the options! Since I’m allergic to peanuts, I’m always looking for other nut butters to try 🙂

Thanks, Akaleistar! There are some awesome nut butters available these days. In addition to the ones in this article, I’ve seen hazelnut spreads and walnut butters. I used to make my own spread out of walnuts and cucumbers. Sounds weird, but it was good lol.
