It’s Prime Day, Slurpee Day, and Cow Appreciation Day – Woo Hoo!

Happy Prime Day! Happy Slurpee Day 2017! Happy Cow Appreciation Day!

Wow, we have a lot going on today! I didn’t even mention that some Chick-fil-A stores have free sandwiches this morning as part of an ongoing promotion where you get a free breakfast sandwich every Tuesday. We try to eat healthy in my home…but we might have Chick-fil-A for breakfast, visit 7-11 after lunch for a free Slurpee, and head back to Chick-fil-A in our cow costumes for dinner. Shhhhh, don’t judget – Mom is on a budget.

Okay, let’s run through the days deals and promos:

Today is Amazon Prime Day. Prime Day is a popular shopping day similar to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. People flock to the website to score deals on everything from electronics to clothes. Personally I’d like a deal on snacks since my kids eat 24/7 during summer break.

I’m an affiliate for Ibotta, a popular cash-back rebate app that has partnered with Amazon to bring you extra savings on deals today (and every day). The FTC requires that I tell youΒ I earn money if you click on links with my referral code and make a qualifying purchase. This article contains some of those links.

Not familiar with Ibotta? Check out my handy article about rebate apps by clicking here.

I didn’t take that pretty pic above. Shoutout to Pixabay for always having the cutest stock photos.

Anyway, you can earn cash back on stuff you buy from Amazon by joining Ibotta. Here’s a current list of Ibotta’s cash-back offers for Amazon.

Alright, on to the next special event: Slurpee Day 2017!

I’ll be honest: I don’t really like Slurpees, and I 100% hate giving my kids anything with artificial colors or flavors. We won’t even talk about the high sugar content in these frozen beverages.

However, my kids love Slurpees and look forward to Slurpee Day each summer. I’m not going to deprive them of that joy, so we’ll head to 7-11 and wait in line forever for a free Slurpee.

Brain freeze!

Don’t worry, the vehicle wasn’t moving. I don’t text and drive. Or blog and drive. Or do anything other than drive and drive.

Here’s what you need to know about Slurpee Day 2017:

  • Locations don’t have to participate, but pretty much all of them do
  • You get a free small Slurpee, so put that giant cup down!
  • Flavors sell out toward the end of the day, so go early if you can
  • The promotion runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. but some people line up early
  • Expect to wait in line for a while if you’re visiting a busy store

After you grab your free Slurpee from 7-11, slip into your cow costume and head to Chick-fil-A for Cow Appreciation Day.

My son worked super hard on his costume a couple years ago. He was 4 here:

And check out how adorable the kids looked the year before that:

As you can see, we love Cow Appreciation Day. It’s fun to dress up, even if there’s no free food involved.

I can’t eat wheat, but our local Chick-fil-A has plenty of gluten-free options. I usually get the grilled nuggets or a salad. For breakfast, you can order a scrambled egg in a box with cheese and bacon. The french fries at Chick-fil-A are also gluten free.

Also, has anyone else noticed that Chick-fil-A hires the nicest people ever? They seem genuinely delighted to take my order each time I go there with my kids. I tell them thank you when they hand me my food or carry it to the table, and they always respond with “My pleasure.” I have to admit my customer skills were nowhere near as good when I worked at McDonald’s back in the day.

Okay, enough about my employment history. Here’s the scoop on Cow Appreciation Day:

  • It runs from open til 7 p.m. but I’ve heard (I can’t confirm this though) that some stores only doing it from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • You get an entree for dressing in full cow gear (so you can’t just draw a couple spots on your arm and call yourself a cow)
  • A kid’s meal counts as an entree
  • It gets crowded inside, so you may want to hit up the drive-thru window

You can find out more information about Cow Appreciation Day by clicking here.

Okay, it’s time for me to snag some Prime Day deals before I eat free food at Chick-fil-A and chug down a free Slurpee. Hope you all enjoy this fun-filled day!

Which special event are you most excited about – Prime Day, Cow Appreciation Day, or Slurpee Day 2017?

Maybe that’s why Chic-Fil-A’s fries are so good β€” they’re gluten free!

Oh wow I only knew about it being Prime Day and I have to admit I’ve spent way to much on bits today – but some of it (like loo roll and hand wash) will make savings in the long term, I hope!

We don’t live near a 7-11 either but there is one near Costco and I was planning to make a Costco run anyway.

I knew about Prime Day but had no idea about the other two celebrations. I wish that we had a place that sold Slurpees nearby!

As I was eating my Chick Fil A in a crowded restaurant tonight I wondered if the offer was valid in the drive-thru. Too bad we don’t have a 7-11 around here.

Glad you’ve enjoyed these three celebrations. BTW have you got your Amazon Prime Haul?
The cow appreciation day looks cute. Much cuter if the kids had a chance to ride with cows!

Thank you! I ended up passing on Prime Day stuff because we are going to Florida later this summer. I want to make sure I have plenty of money for our family vacation.

I didn’t know it was Cow Appreciation Day, but I did know the other two ;). Several acquaintances of mine were pretty psyched about the free slurpees, and I did some Prime Day shopping myself. I wasn’t very impressed with any of the deals, they did have some “okay” deals on things I have been wanting to purchase.

My kids love free slurpee day too even though I hate all the artificial colors too. Feel bad depriving them since I grew up eating coke icees. Just noticed they are doing the free day all week too!
