My kids love books, and they love animals. It was a win-win situation when I joined forces with Moms Meet and National Geographic to review these adorable animal books.
Before we continue, here’s my standard disclaimer:
I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.
It’s always fun to get packages from Moms Meet, but my kids seriously squealed with excitement when they ripped into the package to find these cute animal books. We have 3 cats, so we’re definitely animal lovers here. Remind me I said that next time Smores and Butterscotch use my sofa as a litterbox.
Anyway, I received 3 books:
Hey, Baby!: A Collection of Pictures, Poems, and Stories from Nature’s Nursery
Let’s Play! Collection
1,001 Ways to Slow Down
A Little Book of Everyday Calm
The last book was obviously for me and not the kids, but my 7 year old still read some of it. My teen wanted me to show you guys one of the pages because she thought it was a beautiful book.
I’ve never been an eBook fan. It feels so nice to hold a real book in my hands and flip through the pages, especially when it’s a pretty paperback like this.
Let’s talk more about the animal books, though. They were a hit with all 3 of my kids, which surprised me since there’s such a big gap (9.5 years) between my oldest and youngest.
They decided to hang out on my bed and read their books. Here’s what I heard for nearly an hour:
“Ohhhhhhhhh my gosh! This is sooooo cute!”
“Look! Look! Mom, you have to see this!”
“This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my life!”
“Do they make more of these books? We need them all!” (“They” meaning National Geographic)
“How did they get these baby animals to do all this stuff?! Adorable!”
As you can see, the books were a hit with my family. My kids were very impressed by the crisp, vivid photos. Two of my three kids asked how the photographer(s) captured animals so clearly.
My family also loved how Hey, Baby!: A Collection of Pictures, Poems, and Stories from Nature’s Nursery contained fun facts and stories about each animal. It was like taking a trip to the zoo, minus the long drive and crowds.
The book has pics of familiar favorites like penguins and lions, plus animals my kids weren’t familiar with like okapi and sugar gliders. I lost track of how many times someone yelled “Awwwww!” while reading this book.
We even read the Let’s Play! Collection together. It’s tailored toward young readers, but the pics were so darn cute that we all enjoyed it. Yes, even me.
Seriously, check out this adorable puppy:
There are also kittens! Other animals too, but I don’t want to spoil the whole book for you.
I highly recommend these books, and not just because I got them for free. Who doesn’t like looking at cute animal pics?
